About the Pastor

Pastor Jenny Weber, originally from Nebraska, has been in ministry since 1999. She is a graduate of Cottey College (A.A.), Hood College (B.A.) and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary (MDiv.). Following college Jenny served as a US-2 Missionary through the General Board of Global Ministries and served at The Mary Elizabeth Inn, a residence for women in transition and crisis, in San Francisco. It was during this time that Jenny discerned her call to ministry.

Although Jenny was ordained a Deacon in the Nebraska Annual Conference, she transferred to the Northern Illinois Conference in 1999 and was ordained an Elder in 2001. Jenny has served urban (Broadway UMC in Chicago), semi-rural (United Church of Sandwich) and suburban congregations (North Shore UMC in Glencoe, First UMC in Oak Park), mostly as a solo pastor, but also as an associate (The United Methodist Church of Geneva) and as a senior pastor. Jenny’s strengths are in worship, preaching, teaching and administration as well as spiritual formation.

Jenny is married to Matthew Eaton, an ordained UCC clergy person, who works as a hospital chaplain at Loyola Medicine in Maywood. They have one son, Spencer who is 13 (seventh grade). Jenny loves to read mysteries, quilt, knit, bake and garden in her spare time.
